Gratierne is an umbrella organisation for a range of Indonesian products. Timber is the part you have landed on here.
The value chain is the business
Most people selling tropical hardwood in Denmark buy it from someone who bought it from someone. Between the forest in Indonesia and a Danish joiner there is usually an export link, an import link and a wholesaler. Each one adds its margin, and each one has its own warehouse, its own administration and its own margin for error.
We built the company differently. Our value chain starts with the tree being cut and ends when the finished timber product has been delivered to the customer. We hold no stock in Denmark — what we do have is control of everything that comes before delivery. That means there are no intermediaries taking a margin along the way, and our internal process is optimised the whole way through.
The complete timber expertise — from felling and sawing through drying to veneer production and finished components — sits inside the company. That is unusual in this industry, and it is the reason we can promise a price others have to spend a long time calculating.
What that means for you as a customer
The price
No double or triple margin. At the same time we deliberately keep sales overheads down and share the saving with you.
The specification
We produce to order. You do not have to adapt your design to a standard range — we adapt production to your drawing.
The response time
You are talking to the people who make it. No enquiry has to travel through three companies before anyone can tell you whether it is possible.
The documentation
The paperwork on the timber's legality comes from our own chain, not from a supplier's supplier.
How an order runs
Enquiry
You send a specification — or a quote you have been given elsewhere.
Assessment
We confirm whether the product is in our range and calculate the price.
Quote
You get a price. If you hold a valid Danish quote, ours is 12% below it.
Production
We manufacture to your specification in Indonesia.
Delivery
The goods ship direct to your address in Denmark.
